RSCNJ Recognizes National Infertility Awareness Week – NIAW 2024

NIAW 2024, April 21-27

Eatontown, New Jersey, April 16, 2024 – In recognition of NIAW 2024 (National Infertility Awareness Week), April 21-27, Reproductive Science Center of New Jersey joins RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association in raising awareness. We will leave our mark by talking about the problems affecting 1 in 6 with infertility and making sure we maintain support for those struggling to have a family.

RESOLVE

NIAW is a movement that began in 1989. The intention of NIAW is to raise awareness about the disease of infertility and encourage the public to grasp the many challenges in reproductive health.

RESOLVE founded this movement and continues to work alongside the professional family building community, corporate partners and the media to:

  1. Ensure that people trying to conceive know the recommendations for when to see a specialist if they are unsuccessful on their own.
  2. Reinforce public understanding that infertility is a disease that needs and deserves consideration.
  3. Educate legislators about infertility and reproductive rights and how they impact communities in their state.

In 2010 National Infertility Awareness Week developed into a federally recognized health observance by the Department of Health & Human Services.

NIAW 2024: Empowering YOU to Change the Conversation

“Empowering YOU to Change the Conversation” is RESOLVE’s theme to raise awareness around the serious lack of access to family building options and emotional support for millions of women and men struggling to grow a family. In 2024, get ready to “leave your mark” – and make sure to use #LeaveYourMark2024 in your social media posts supporting infertility awareness. Whether you’re a patient, professional or supporting someone with infertility, you have a chance to leave a lasting impression during NIAW. Now is the moment to change the conversation around infertility, who it impacts, the barriers too many face, and what our policy makers and support systems can do to help.

As the public conversation around infertility is at an all-time high, we’d like to focus on the issues important to the millions of Americans struggling to start a family. Infertility can affect anyone of reproductive age, regardless of race, economic status, sex or gender. We can uncover the problems of access facing the most vulnerable individuals of our community — those without access to insurance coverage for infertility care or the economic means to pay out-of-pocket for treatments, third-party options or adoption. And let’s get real about the backing needed to resolve infertility.

Our doctors, nurses, technicians and administrative staffers entirely understand the difficult emotional and medical challenges that patients struggling with infertility face. Our fertility center incorporates a commitment to sensitive, comprehensive care with a state-of-the-art program of the latest infertility treatments, from in vitro fertilization (IVF) and artificial insemination to drug therapies.

#WearOrange

On Wednesday, April 24 show your support to assist with changing the conversation around infertility by wearing orange. Whether infertility affects you, someone you know or you honestly support awareness of the issue, show your support and #WearOrange! Don’t forget to take a selfie and tag @resolveorg using the hashtag #WearOrange.
