On June 11, 2021, Dr. Ziegler received the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) Excellence in Teaching Award from Monmouth Medical Center.
This award honors exemplary educators in women’s health. It was presented to Dr. William Ziegler by APGO and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Monmouth Medical Center for the year of 2020-2021.
Dr. Ziegler completed a four year OB/GYN residency at the Medical Center of Delaware Christiana. He then received advanced training in laparoscopy and reproductive surgery and completed a three year fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at the University of Vermont, Fletcher Allen Healthcare.
In addition to being board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, he is board certified in reproductive endocrinology and infertility through both the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist and the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists. As part of the teaching faculty at Monmouth Medical Center and chairman of the reproductive endocrinology division at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, he kindled his passion for surgical and clinical instruction. In this role, he earned medical student and resident national teaching awards, which include CREOG National Faculty Awards and the APGO Excellence in Teaching Awards from both Jersey Shore University Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center residency programs.
In 1998, Dr. Ziegler joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at both OB/GYN resident teaching programs. He was initially teaching faculty and cultivated teaching modules to facilitate learning for both medical students and residents. As he became more involved in the teaching process he achieved academic appointments at Rutgers New Jersey School of Medicine and the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.
